Shield painting workshop
Age: 6-14 years
Duration: ~30 min per group
Number of participants: up to 10 per group
Participants receive a wooden shield with a basic engraving of the coat of arms, which they then paint with the help of the workshop leader. The coat of arms can be one from our palette or according to the customer’s request. In order to reduce the possibility of participants dirtying their clothes, painting is usually done with felt-tip pens, but according to the wishes of the client, it is also possible to use acrylic paints. Depending on the inspiration of the participants, the workshop may last longer than expected. At the end of the workshop, the participants take their shields with them.
Children’s knight tournament
Age: 8-14 years
Duration: ~45 min per group
Number of participants: up to 20 per group
Participants receive a soft replica of a historical helmet, a wooden shield, a tunic and a weapon of their choice (sponge covered sword or sponge head hammer) to use. The tournament is designed according to the principle of duels up to 5 hits in rounds in which the winner goes to the next round. The final is held according to the principle of duels in which each finalist fights against the other finalists and the final ranking is done by counting the wins in the final. Depending on the skill of the contestants, the workshop may last longer than expected. The first three places win a commemorative medal.
Children’s tournament in crossbow shooting
Age: 7-15 years
Duration: ~45 min per group
Number of participants: up to 20 per group
Participants receive a wooden replica of a crossbow and 4 arrows with which they shoot at a target that has holes of different sizes and that carry a different number of points. Participants shoot in pairs and the competitor with more points goes to the next round. The finalists shoot individually at the target for two rounds of 4 arrows each, and the final ranking list is obtained by adding up the points of both final rounds. Depending on the skill of the contestants, the workshop may last longer than expected. The first three places win a commemorative medal.
Coloring by numbers
Age: 6-14 years
Duration: ~45 min per group
Number of participants: up to 10 per group
Participants receive a printed image in the form of a contour with fields marked with numbers and a color legend according to which they color it. Depending on the desired end result, the motif can be a historical coat of arms, a photograph of an object (eg. an important museum exhibit piece), a depiction of a historical event, or something else. There can be several motives for each workshop. The basic version of the workshop is performed with felt-tip pens, but it is possible to use other techniques in agreement with the organizer. The workshop can be adapted for adults as well.
Making wooden name plates
Age: 6-15 years

Number of participants: up to 10 per group
The participants receive a wooden plate cut into the shape agreed with the organizer (e.g. the silhouette of the old town where the workshop is held) and cutout wooden letters. Each participant glues the letters of his name on the plate and then colors the letters to the desired color and places a string for carrying around the neck on the plate. Depending on the wishes and inspiration of the participants, the string can be decorated with macrame techniques before placing it on the tile. The workshop can also be adapted for adults.
Calligraphy basics
Age: 8-15 years
Duration: ~45 min per group
Number of participants: up to 10 per group
The participants receive a lined paper with upper and lower case letters of a simple Uncial calligraphic script, with which they can practice the letters using the example of their own name. Along with the lined paper, participants also receive a paper with examples of decorated initial letters, so that the more daring get additional inspiration. After they practice writing their name in calligraphic script, they write it on a decorated charter that they keep as a keepsake of the workshop/event. The text of the charter is adapted to the location of the workshop (eg. a fortress or some other manorial property). The workshop is usually carried out using ballpoint pens and felt-tip pens, but it is also possible to arrange the use of quill and ink. The workshop can also be adapted for adults.
